Whats a good age to talk about sex with my daughter?

Shes 8 and ive seen her doing things with her dolls to indicate sex, like kissing and touching and I dont know where she got it from. We are very careful about what we watch. The other day she told me about a period and I didnt know what to do. Whens a good time to talk about these things? Is 8 too young when she already is showing signs of curiosity of puberty?

TAlk to her now it may not be easy but if she is showing all those signs better to talk to her now then yell at her when she is pregnant from lack of knowledge.
